How Golf Courses Set Green Fees

By Stephanie Patterson

They say that golf is the most expensive sport to play. And that fact and figure is something that is not so off the mark. After all, theres a certain truth in this. One has to invest not only in the many equipment and the starch uniform. Of course, and most importantly, theres the venue to think of, first and foremost. That is the nub of the matter with algarve green fees.

This one is a lingo in golf. Its whats paid per round of play. Theres no standard cost. Its all down to the courses management to determine how much. Of course, it will have to translate to their services. Some GFs are remarkably low, in fact as low as ten dollars. And at the same time, you have those that are unbelievably astronomical, such as hundreds of dollars.

As it is, it actually depends on whats in for the taking. In some cases, the GF subsumes quite a lot of perks and features, such as the use of a cart, the services of a caddy, food, refreshments, et cetera, et cetera. Therefore, with a higher fee, you actually stand to gain some boons. If youre looking to skimp on them and just hoard savings, then you would have to spell that out.

That said, the fee varies to each his own. Its all down on many factors. For one, you have the time of the season and even the week and day. In some cases, it even depends on the golfers status. During the weekend, it can cost higher than it does during the week. Same goes in the middle of the day. During at night, it can plunge to an all time low, since its virtually improbable to complete the full 18.

No matter how the general population keeps on touting how golf is expensive, its still worth to note that theres a course for every kind of budget. Thus, its only as expensive as you make it to be. One can settle with a mere dozen dollars, or else a mind boggling two hundred to five hundred dollars. Theres a low and high end. Wherever it may be, every golf facility has a rate that they charge to golfers.

And then theres the boon of unlimited play. Now, who wouldnt want this. After all, sports is about enjoyment. And this is ensured when you dont put a cap on it. It would be great if, as far as you know, you can indulge to your hearts content, and not fetter yourself to a given hour or minute. Take the whole day if you want to. One green pay means a game of eighteen holes, which is undeniably more than enough, though you may add to it if you want to.

At the outset, everything can be simmered down to economics. Private courses cost more than public ones. In big cities and metropolises, the numbers are accordingly higher compared to those in the small towns. If the demand is high, such as during certain times of the year, season, week, day, then the same. The type of facility makes a world of difference as well. Country club members often pay a kings ransom annually, at least to us plebs.

And then throw in the possibly provided food and drink. This is not what youd call usual. However, there really are some managements that pitch this in after a reasonable G Fee. Its what you might call a promo, or else a special or sale offer. Perhaps you might also be assigned a caddie. Now, this ones really something to angle for. After all, this is something most courses dont think to offer, although it can make a world of difference in the golfers play.

Nonetheless, and then again, some deviations may be applicable. You have those that include extra nifty features, such as having a caddy, a cart, food and beverages, refreshments, you name it. It can also be tailored to ones particularities, such as playing a full or else a quick round. Whatever the case, its important to be clued in so that he or shell be harder to rip off.
