Unusual And Tasty Fava Flour Recipes

The qualities of fava beans are lately more and more appreciated. The beans are used for making really tasty and meaty flour. Thanks to the fact that fava flour recipes don't contain gluten and are really rich in fibers, common meals might become tastier and healthier, and this works for sweets as well as for breads, pizzas and other popular foods.

This special ingredient is sometimes combined with garbanzo beans. If you have a larger quantity to keep, you should keep it in your freezer. Thanks to the fact it doesn't contain gluten, it is recommendable for people who are gluten intolerant. It might need more baking powder, but it does taste nice and gives some special quality to your foods. Replace some ingredients in your own recipes, or try to make one of these.

Anyway, here are a few recipes you could try to make right now, and you won't be disappointed. The first one is called the quick apple cake. And it is really simple and tasty. All you need are three to four apples, a small spoon of vanilla sugar, cinnamon and baking powder, and one cup of following ingredients, sugar, fava flour, walnuts. You also need half cup vegetable oil. Slice your apples first.

The first thing you should do is to switch on the oven, on 180 degrees of Celsius. Take a non-stick pan and spread the apples mixed with one spoon of sugar and cinnamon on the pan. Bake it for maybe fifteen minutes. Mix egg whites with the rest of sugar, add yolks, vanilla and oil and continue mixing. Add all dry ingredients, mix it all together and spread over baked apples. Put it back into oven for another fifteen minutes.

When the cake is done, turn it upside down on the plate. Decorate with whipped cream. If you are lactose intolerant, you can use vegetable whipped cream or some other replacement. The amount of sugar in this recipe will mostly depend on the sweetness of apples, as well as on your personal taste. You can also use more cinnamon if you want.

Almond cookies are really simple, but tasty. With one egg, a cup of fava flour and the equal amount of ground almonds, sugar and butter, some cinnamon and cardamom and a little spoon of baking powder you can easily make them. Simply combine all these ingredients, form cookies and bake them in some non-stick pan, on maybe 180 degrees of Celsius.

Here is another quite unusual but really tasty dessert. It is called Poppy muffins with raisins and dark chocolate. For preparing it, you will need three eggs, one cup each of fava flour, vegetable oil, sugar and ground poppy seeds. You also need half of that quantity of raisins and chocolate chips, and a little bit of cinnamon, baking powder and vanilla, depending on your taste.

Combine eggs with sugar, vegetable oil and spices, add other ingredients and finish with dark chocolate and raisins. You will need some muffin molds and preheated oven on 180 degrees of Celsius. The muffins should be bake in about fifteen minutes. Once done, they can be decorated with dark chocolate or your favorite icing.
