If you need more time, you are going to probably have to put that in writing to someone official.
The commitment of time and money not to mention mental and physical effort you will be using in this program or any program is going to have to big. You cannot spend a year and a half of your life in school and not be committed. Asking yourself and your family if this is the right time or if another time would be better.
